The Tampa Bay Buccaneers unveiled their new uniforms on Tuesday, and to just about everyone's relief, the team went retro and adopted uniforms reminiscent to the ones they wore during what they call their "Super Bowl era" -- i.e, the Bucs' 48-21 win over Oakland in Super Bowl 37, back in the 2002 season.
So, for those of you that worried that Tom Brady would look foolish in what the pundits called the "alarm clock" uniforms, those fears disappeared when the Bucs introduced the new look. The uniforms bring back the emphasis on red and pewter as the team colors, along with the restoration of traditional block numerals and the removal of color panels on the shoulders. The pirate flag logo on the helmets will grow a little larger, but the most important thing is the removal of those ugly digital-style numbers that made the Bucs look like an Arena League team.

I've also heard that within a year, the NFL will lift its restrictions on different helmets for throwback uniforms -- which might allow the Bucs to bring back their Creamsicle-colored uniforms and Bruce the Buccaneer on the helmets. What a look that would be for Brady, huh?
Several teams will be wearing new uniforms this year, including the Patriots, who will be changing their base uniform for the first time since the 2000 season. The only word so far on those changes is that they will be subtle and not a complete makeover. And there may be a new throwback; Julian Edelman hinted in a Twitter post that it might be the Pete Carroll-era light blue shirt with the NASCAR racing numbers and the huge Flying Elvis on the shoulders, but there has been no confirmation from the club.
